GE15: Pas' Takiyuddin to defend Kota Bharu
PUTRAJAYA - Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan will be defending his incumbent parliamentary seat of Kota Bharu in the coming November 19 national poll.
His candidacy for the seat, which he had held on to since his debut in the 12th General Election (GE12), was confirmed by Takiyuddin himself after attending a programme here today.
"It would seems like it," said the Caretaker Minister in the Prime Minister Department (Law), answering a question from the press about his candidacy in GE15.
In a separate matter, Takiyuddin also revealed that Pas will up its candidate quota for women and newcomers by 10 per cent, respectively.
"There were some who were asked to rest and give way while there were also those who requested not to be nominated.
"None have sulked over the party's decision, everyone has accepted the decision wholeheartedly," he said.
Pas is expected to announce its candidate for state-level elections in Perak, Perlis and Pahang this Wednesday.
