SHAH ALAM - The announcement made by Bersatu Vice President Datuk Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen to quit the party does not involve Tangga Batu Parliamentary division committee.

Melaka Bersatu chief Mohd Yadzil Yaakub said his party is aware of Rafiq's personal stance but will continue to support party President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

"His statement is personal and does not involve the committee and wing of the Tangga Batu division which still remains with Bersatu," he said.

"All of us members at Melaka Bersatu will prepare the PN machinery to face the elections," he added.

They have also taken a vow to continue working hard to ensure that PN wins regardless of who the candidate will be named by the central government in the near future,.

Earlier, the media reported that Rafiq resigned from all his positions in Bersatu and left the party with immediate effect.

His move comes after failing to secure the Tangga Batu Parliamentary seat despite serving the area for six years since 2016.
