KLANG - Medical doctor Dr Jaya Chandran Perumal, 47, is the potential candidate to contest in Klang Parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Deputy Klang Perikatan Nasional Liaison chief Khalid Nayan said his party has agreed to appoint the 'people's doctor' to compete in this GE.

However, the official announcement about the candidate will be made soon by coalition leadership.

“So far we have only sent two candidates, namely from Gerakan and Bersatu, and after we made a comparison, they agreed with the candidate we brought (Dr Jaya Chandran).

"The announcement from PN will be made soon and the final decision will be made by the central level," he said.

He said this during a press conference after the Klang PN Election Machinery Launch at the PN Klang Operations Room here today.

In the meantime, Dr Jaya Chandran said, he will fight for the betterment of people's health and services including mitigation of floods if he wins the Klang Parliamentary seat in GE15.

In addition, he will also open a fifth clinic here offering various health facilities for the needy, the elderly, children under 18 and university students.

Dr Jaya Chandran is Bersatu associate member. He studied medicine at Kursk State Medical University, Russia and is a CEO in five medical companies since 2014.
