Larry Sng is PBM President - RoS
SHAH ALAM - The Registry of Societies (RoS) has confirmed that Datuk Larry Sng Wei Shien is still the Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) President based on the registry’s record.
Its director-general Mohd Nawardi Saad told a local Malay daily that based on government records, Ng was still the party president and if anyone had issues on the matter, they needed to resolve it internally.
“The issue surrounding the position of party president is an internal issue and does not involve the RoS,” he was quoted saying.
Nawardi said this in response to PBM’s leadership crisis after two people including Ng himself claimed that he was still the party president.
Ng is also the Julau incumbent MP.
PBM deputy president Haniza Mohamed Talha claimed that Ampang incumbent MP Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin was the new PBM President after the party’s supreme council meeting on Oct 7 adopted seven motions which were agreed to unanimously in the PBM annual general meeting in Shah Alam on Oct 1.
Making Zuraida president was among the seven motions adopted and the necessary process was followed on the appointment.
Ng meanwhile claimed that he had never relinquish his position as party president and plans to contest in the 15th General Election with PBM’s logo.
He also stated that he was the official PBM President after he was elected for the 2021-2024 term during the special general meeting in Sibu, Sarawak on Jan 8.
Ng had suspended Zuraida and 12 supreme council; Daroyah Alwi, Haniza Mohamad Talha, Rahimah Majid, Sathiskumar Govindaraju, Muhammad Saiful Bahari Sahari, Na’im Brundage, Abdul Aziz Abdul Kadir, Zakaria Abdul Rahim, Muniraa Abu Bakar, Chua Lian Chye, Roger Tan and Albakri Salim.
