SHAH ALAM - Selangor Wanita PKR chief Rodziah Ismail is expected to face Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) President Zuraida Kamaruddin at the Ampang Parliamentary seat in the 15th general elections.

Sources say Rodziah is being considered to contest against Zuraida who may have lost support from majority of PKR voters after the infamous Sheraton Move in 2020.

"She seems to be strongest contender against Zuraida," a source told Sinar Daily.

Rodziah has been a Selangor state executive councillor for two consecutive terms. The Batu Tiga assemblyman had contested for the Wanita PKR chief’s post in the 2014 party elections but lost to Zuraida.

Zuraida retained her post unopposed in the 2018 party polls but was sacked in February 2020 following the Sheraton Move. The post has remained vacant since.

In 2018, Rodziah also contested for the Wanita deputy chief’s post but lost to Daroyah Alwi.

She was, however, appointed the Selangor Wanita PKR chief in June 2020, replacing Daroyah, after she quit the party.
