No discussion yet on Sabah’s DPM candidate
ASYIKIN ASMINKOTA KINABALU - There has been no discussion yet regarding the Deputy Prime Minister candidate at the Sabah state level.
Sabah BN Deputy Chairman Datuk Yakub Khan said they welcomed the creation of DPM positions in Sabah, Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia.
"Personally, this matter is very good but we just hope that if we can implement this matter, let the DPM position have power and not just a decoration.
"So far it has not been discussed (at the state level) and there is no (discussion of DPM candidates)," he said when asked by reporters today.
He said this when asked about Sabah BN Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin's statement that the TPM position would be included in the Sabah BN manifesto in the 15th General Election (GE15).
When asked about the distribution of BN-Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) seats, Yakub informed that the discussion about it was in the final stage and would be finalised.
"Regarding the candidates, it is up to the respective parties but in the discussion we have stated that candidates who are placed in either BN or GRS seats need to be discussed so that they are the best candidates to represent GRS and BN themselves," he said.
