Amanah announces 15 new faces in Perak

IPOH - Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) announces 15 new faces in Perak who will represent Pakatan Harapan (PH) in GE15.

Amanah Nasional Elections Director Datuk Asmuni Awi said out of that number, 12 candidates would run for State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats while the other three would run for Parliamentary seats.

He said Amanah would also compete in 20 state assembly seats and six parliamentary seats in this upcoming election.

"All the leadership is lined up this time. We are presenting nine young candidates including the head of Amanah Perak Youth Khairol Najib Hashim, 30.

"Compared to GE14, there are an additional eight seats that we are competing for (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia-Bersatu seats) of PH," he said during the Announcement Ceremony of Amanah Candidates for the Parliamentary and State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats representing PH at Wisma Amanah here on Friday.

Four DUN incumbents remain, namely Asmuni in Manjoi DUN, Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin (Sungai Rapat), Dr Muhd Fadhil Nuruddin (Kamunting) and Yahaya Mat Nor (Pasir Panjang).

Meanwhile, only the former Deputy Speaker of the Perak State Assembly Aminuddin Zulkipli who was the incumbent of the Behrang State Assembly seat was dropped this time.

As for the parliamentary seats, three old candidates were retained including the two incumbents - Perak PH Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof in the Parit Buntar parliamentary seat and Datuk Hatta Ramli (Lumut) while Dr Ahmad Termizi Ramli remained in the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary seat.
