DAP reminisces GE14’s victory

SHAH ALAM - Bakri incumbent MP Yeo Bee Yin reminisces the victory of the Democratic Action Party (DAP) during the 14th General Election (GE14) which marks the historical moment where the fall of the 60-year-old government.

Taking the matter to Facebook, Yeo said the monumental moment saw many international media who attended the event where the victory of the party was announced by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“If we did not make a historic victory, the headlines of the media would be ‘the corrupt regime won election in Malaysia despite scandals’ (or) ‘Kleptocrat reigns in Malaysia’.

“The international media will say a lot of bad things about Malaysia,” she said in a video posted on Facebook.

She also said due to the faith the people had in the party, they had garnered voters from all crooks of the world including oversea voters.

“You put a lot of money into our donation box as well and you called your friends from overseas to come back to vote and you called everyone to go back to their 'kampung' to vote," she said.

On May 10, 2018, she said the international media made a headline dubbed ‘Malaysia is the Beacon of Light for Democracy in Asia’ due to the victory achieved in 2018.
