'Pak Lebai' party has proven its ability to govern three states - Tuan Ibrahim
MUHAMMAD AMNAN HIBRAHIMSHAH ALAM - Pas deputypresident Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the party has proven its ability to govern through its performance in the three states it ruled which are Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah.
He said the success in the economy and administration were achieved by Pas despite being labelled as the “pak lebai” party and many more.
"Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah are Pas-administered states. Pak lebai's party, some said.
"Although we are not perfect, the administration in the three states show good economic growth, credible administration, stable government and most importantly no corruption," he said in a Facebook post on Sunday.
The “pak lebai” party was one of the labels often used by Pas political opponents to describe the party.
In the 15th General Election (GE15), Pas had chosen to cooperate with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition.
At the same time, Pas was seen as open to continuing efforts to cooperate with the party described by its coalition partner in the PN as its main enemy, which was Umno through Muafakat Nasional (MN).
The stance has caused leaders of both parties, Pas and Umno to exchange statements with each other.
