GE15: Country’s recovery will not succeed if Umno wins: Dr M
SHAH ALAM – Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad claimed that the recovery of the country in various aspects, especially the economy, will not succeed if Umno wins the 15th General Election (GE15).
He said the country would instead face worse situation if the people do not reject Umno and continue to vote for that party in GE15.
He also emphasised the responsibility of the people who love the nation and the country to remind the voters about the immorality of the Umno government under the leadership of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his allies.
"Malaysia has become a semi-developed country to the point of being known as the Asian Tiger. When Najib became Prime Minister, he refused to serve the nation and the country.
"On the other hand, Najib thinks that by bribing the people with a lot of money, Umno will be elected in every GE. But in GE14, Najib lost and could no longer hide the crimes committed.
"BN's defeat also exposed the various crimes and abuse of power committed during the Umno and Najib administration.
“Malaysia's achievement performance also dropped to the point where it is known to the world as a kleptocracy, that is, a nation of thieves led by thieves and thus Malaysia is no longer an Asian Tiger.
"It is clear that if Umno is not stopped, Malaysia will experience a worse situation.
“Recovery will not be possible," he said in a statement on Sunday.
He also described that all Umno’s mistakes and failures needed to be exposed so that the people who love the country and the nation would reject the party in GE15.
"If the evils of Umno are not exposed, there is a high possibility that voters will blindly vote for Umno.
“What's more, the Umno leadership is very successful in covering up their wrongdoings by claiming that members and supporters do not need to be ashamed when they do wrong.
"Not to mention the support will be reciprocated with bribes. What will happen to the country when the 'Cash is King' kleptocrat rules again," he said.
