GE15: Over one million youths aged 18 to 20 will be voting for the first time

A total of 1,393,549 voters aged between 18 and 20 in the country will vote for the first time in GE15.

PUTRAJAYA - A total of 1,393,549 voters aged between 18 and 20 in the country will vote for the first time in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Based on the electoral roll age statistics, as of Oct 9, a total of 86,914 voters were aged 90 and above.

A total of 4,614,429 were eligible voters aged between 21 and 29.

Meanwhile, there were 11,354,094 voters aged 30 to 59 and another 3,724,652 voters were senior citizens.

For states, Selangor recorded the highest number of voters which was 3,677,848, followed by Johor with 2,616,575.

Perak had 2,036,872 voters, Sarawak (1,943,074), Sabah (1,689,074), Kedah (1,575,805), Kelantan (1,404,073), Penang (1,226,626), Kuala Lumpur (1,151,407), Pahang (1,136,944), Terengganu (992,856), Negeri Sembilan (850,865), Melaka (657,324), Perlis (195,927), Labuan (44,484) and Putrajaya (42,881).

The Election Commission (EC) announced that there will be a total of 21,173,638 voters in GE15.
