KOTA KINABALU - Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor reminds the party leadership at the Federal level not to interfere with Sabah's political scenario.

Confident that there would be no clash between GRS and Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 15th General Election (GE15), Hajiji said a 'peaceful understanding' had been formed since the Sabah government was established following the previous Sabah state election in 2020.

"We have told the party leaderships especially BN, that the political situation in Sabah is a bit different and a bit unique. In the Federal level it is different, in Sabah its different because of the GRS-BN government," he said at a convocation event of a local college, here today.

Hajiji who is also Sabah Chief Minister, said that his current administration relied on the understanding between GRS and BN to operate.

"I have stated to the leadership in the Federal level be it BN or Perikatan Nasional (PN); not to disturb us. We have been holding on to this understanding because we have three more years to rule, why must we fight one another.

"We want a stablity," said Hajiji.

He said through the understanding there would be no clash between the two Sabah political parties, adding that they would also support each other's candidates.

"We can't contest against each other. That is our understanding wherever GRS candidates would contest; BN must support and vice versa.
