Maszlee will defend Simpang Renggam seat

SHAH ALAM - Incumbent Simpang Renggam MP Dr Maszlee Malik has announced that he will be defending the seat in the 15th General Election (GE15).
He said his nomination was confirmed by Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during a meeting on Wednesday morning.
“This morning I received a mandate and responsibility from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president and PH chairman (Anwar).
Among the mandates I received was to defend the Simpang Renggam Parliament at any cost for Malaysia and the future of the country’s education,” he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, in the post’s comment section, some of the netizens gave positive reactions to the matter shared by the former education minister.
“Hopefully the rakyat will continue their support,” Facebook user Zaikhan Abdul Rahim commented.
“Great, may PH return to Putrajaya,” said another user Khir Ariffin.
In GE14, Maszlee won the Simpang Renggam seat after defeating BN candidate Datuk Liang Teck Meng who held the seat for two terms with a majority 3,475 votes.
