KOTA KINABALU - The unexpected increase in the number of voters throughout Sabah including the Keningau Parliament shocks Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR).

The data for the number of voters recorded by the Election Commission (EC) was noticed after Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) revealed there was a rise in voters throughout Sabah.

Star President Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan found the unusual increase in the Keningau Parliament was over 70 per cent.

"The number of voters in Keningau Parliament was at 51,777 in 2018 and it had drastically increased to 87,371 in 2022 making a rise of 70.7 per cent.

"This is extraordinary and quite worrying," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Keningau Parliamentary seat incumbent said the total of Undi18 voters in Keningau were less than 8,000.

"It is impossible that we could reach a rise of 30,000 within less than five years.

“It's as if something isn't right," he said.
