KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Bersatu Information Chief Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan is open to any decision made by the party leadership regarding the selection of candidates for the Batu Sapi Parliamentary seat.

He said the election season had arrived and undoubtedly many individuals wanted to offer themselves to become a candidate from any party.

“I represent Bersatu and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) led by our Chief Minister (Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor), each of the decisions made or decided by him we would accept wholeheartedly.

“Surely, each decision that he will make take into account all aspects and factors, but what is important as I have stated earlier is the decision we would act upon should be done to improve Sabah,” he said after the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Sabah FC and Sabah Travel Agent Consortium, here, on Tuesday.

Firdaus said this when asked by reporters after his name was among those to be listed in the Batu Sapi by-election that was supposed to be held on Dec 5, 2020.

When asked whether he was prepared if his name was nominated for the Batu Sapi Parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election (GE15), Firdaus refused to give further comments.

“In politics there is no if, I can’t answer it. Should there be an order and it was in black and white, only then can we release any comments,” he said.

Previously the Batu Sapi seat was vacated after its incumbent Datuk Liew Vui Keong died on Oct 2, 2020.
