KOTA TINGGI - Nurul Nazihah Kamalul Arifin who was killed at Kilometre 45.7 of the North-South Expressway last night, performed the umrah with her husband and parents last week.

Her father Kamalul Arifin Ahmad, 66, who was shocked by the death of his fourth child said Nurul wanted to join him and his wife, Saliah Hood, 56 on the umrah trip after she had learnt about it.

"They had been planning for months. Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God) she fulfilled her wish,” he told reporters at his home in Kampung Lukut, adding that the deceased worked at a factory in Pasir Gudang for three years.

Kamalul said his daughter was back to work two days ago and had planned to go to his house next week.

"At the holy land, they were the youngest and helped us all with our affairs. She had gone there to pray for a child.

"Now, her mother is grieving since Nurul used to buy all her medicines, vitamin pills and refused to be paid back,” said Kamalul while wiping his tears.

However, his wife has accepted Nurul’s death and was relieved when told that Nurul’s remains were intact.

Earlier, the atmosphere at the home of the victim's family in Kampung Lukut was rather sombre as family members, close friends and neighbours waited for the deceased's body to arrive.

After the funeral prayers, the deceased will be buried at the Kampung Temenin Lama Muslim Cemetery, near here today.
