BAGAN DATUK - Umno has not budged from its decision to nominate party vice president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as their prime ministerial candidate if BN wins the 15th General Election (GE15).

Umno President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the decision should not be disputed anymore.

However, he clarified the power to appoint the prime minister was still subjected to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong according to the Federal Constitution.

"So, if there is an opposition party that names someone other than Ismail Sabri, it is an effort to break Umno and BN and I do not respect that standing.

"We respect the absolute power under the Federal Constitution," he told reporters at a press conference after officiating the Bagan Datuk Division Umno Representative meeting here, today.
