SHAH ALAM - Prominent women political leaders give nod to former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail contesting in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Wanita Pakatan Harapan chief Aiman Athirah Sabu said Wan Azizah possessed unique capabilities in today's politics.

"Our community is suffering with many issues and I believe that she could help us from a humanitarian point of view, which is quite important.

"Wan Azizah has unfinished business since she only had 22 months to govern the country. She has a lot of agendas to complete," Aiman told Sinar Daily.

Meawhile, Wanita PH deputy president Chong Eng said Wan Azizah has enough experience to contest in the upcoming general election.

"She has gained a certain reputation and had shown her leadership.

"She is still healthy so I don't see a reason why she should not contest as a candidate in GE15," she said.

Meanwhile, Batu Kawan MP Kasthuri Patto said Wan Azizah must be seen active in Malaysian politics.

She said Wan Azizah must be remembered for what she has done for the country.

"We must remember her for what she has done, she taught us all even my generation.

"Today we have mainstream the agenda of women in politics. When a woman stands up to speak, she will speak for women, children, the disabled, senior citizens and voiceless community," she said.

As of now, PH has not decided whether Wan Azizah should contest in GE15.

Its chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said there were requests, especially from the women leaders to see the Pandan incumbent MP to contest again.
