JOHOR BAHRU - Police will beef up security during tomorrow night’s Super League match between Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) and Sabah FC at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri.

Johor police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the addition of police personnel is to ensure public safety and order.

"Police request the cooperation of all parties to fully comply with the guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOP) for security control at the stadium as set by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).

"In addition, traffic police will also be stationed to control the flow of traffic around the stadium area to avoid traffic congestion. Spectators visiting the stadium are warned not to park their vehicles where it blocks the road or path, in case of an emergency," he said in a statement today.

Kamarul Zaman reminded the public to obey instructions given by police officers and stadium marshalls to maintain public order.

"Police will not hesitate to take action against any conduct that violates the law," he said.

Tomorrow, JDT will celebrate the success of winning the Malaysian Super League nine times in a row.

The all-in-one celebration will also encompass Johor Malaysia Games (Sukma) athletes, JDT ice hockey team, Johor Jewels (netball), Johor Tigris (sepak takraw) and state rugby players. - BERNAMA
