PETALING JAYA - Former Bersatu Supreme Leadership Council Member and founder Datuk Dr Rais Hussin Mohamed Ariff joins PKR today.

This was announced by PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at a press conference in PKR Headquarters, here, on Thursday.

"I welcome Rais's involvement in PKR," he said.

Rais said his presence in PKR was only as a regular member and he was prepared to contribute his experience in PKR.

"We know the economic statistics of the daily life situation is bitter and critical, the Malaysian ringgit is dropping.

“In my opinion, we should focus on the economy and cost of living that is increasing," he explained.

On Oct 7, Rais announced that he had resigned from Bersatu.

Anwar also announced that former deputy Bera Umno division chief Mohamed Jidi Yaakob had also joined PKR.

Previously, Jidi had been the Felda Triang Umno Division Chief since 1995 to 2018 and represented the Bera Area Farmers Organisation Board of Directors Member until now.
