GE15: BN is out to reassure that it is still fit to govern Putrajaya
SHAH ALAM - Barisan Nasional (BN) looks dead-set in reassuring the people they can rule Putrajaya again, says a political analyst.
Dr Azmi Hassan of Akademi Nusantara believed so after the coalititon which used to rule country for more than six decades unveiled its new election manifesto, promising sustainable and comprehensive people-centric policies.
“One thing for sure stability is the term used by BN to bring forward the 15th General Election (GE15) because in the previous government there were too much backstabbing.
“So, it tied the hands of the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to perform, to develop policies for the people.
"And in regards to floods, it is not yet confirm whether there’ll be a massive one during the coming monsoon season.
“I think that's the reason why they're pushing because if waiting after flood season ends, it will be until February or March next year,” he said.
If BN waited to do the polling next year, Azmi added, it will effect the prosperity of the people.
On a question regarding BN's effort in bringing in new candidates, Azmi said such effort should also be taken by the other parties as well, regardless of age.
"The most important thing is that that new faces bring new ideas that can uplift the spirit of the current political and economic situation that are not really enlightening right now," he said.
BN's "Stability and Prosperity" manifesto were announced yesterday by the coalition's secretary general Datuk Zambry Abdul Kadir following a meeting with BN's upper echelons.
