KOTA BHARU - The Kelantan government's move to maintain the decision to not dissolve the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) was not out of fear of losing power, says state Pas youth chief Mohamad Kamal Mohamed.

He said the action was more of a consideration for the benefit of the people.

"The decision (to not dissolve) is not made out of the fear of losing power like some parties that were greedy and had disappointed the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

"There is also no question of fear of facing the election," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

He was commenting on the demands of the Kelantan Umno Youth who challenged the state government to dissolve the State Assembly to allow the 15th General Election (GE15) to be held simultaneously.

He said the Umno Youth should not be too hasty and challenge the Kelantan Pas to dissolve the State Assembly simultaneously with the dissolution of Parliament.

It was previously reported that the Kelantan Umno Youth challenged the state government to dissolve the State Legislative Assembly to allow GE15 to be held simultaneously, if Pas was not shaken.

Its leader, Noor Hariri Mohamed Noor said the party should not be afraid to hold the election simultaneously if the confidence the people have towards them was strong.
