KOTA KINABALU - Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will hold a meeting as soon as possible to finalise the allocation of seats for the component parties of the coalition.

Its chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the GRS election machinery was ready to face the 15th General Election (GE15).

He said all GRS component parties were united in the face of GE15 and had already reached the conclusion of several agreements including using the GRS logo.

"The GRS election machinery at the state and Parliament levels are ready to be reactivated and all the component parties have also made their own preparations in the spirit of the true GRS," he said in a statement following the announcement of the dissolution of Parliament effective on Monday.

Hajiji who is also the Chief Minister of Sabah also reiterated his stance that the GRS-BN government still has three years to serve.

"Therefore, the dissolution of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (DUN) is not necessary," he said.

Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the dissolution of Parliament to make way for GE15.

However, all states except Sabah, Sarawak, Melaka and Johor were advised to dissolve their respective state assemblies so that State Elections could be held simultaneously with GE15.
