PUTRAJAYA - Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (WUIF) will build a My #QuranTime Academy Complex worth RM20 million in Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor next year.

WUIF founder Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub said the complex would be built on land that had been allocated (infaq) to the foundation with an area of 0.6 hectares.

He said that the construction of the complex which would serve as a broadcast centre for all programmes with the concept of Al-Quran was the result of eternal infaq or waqf.

"This complex will also be a place for ‘asatijah’ (religious teachers) to conduct research to further improve the programme in the future.

“The complex is expected to be completed within three years.

"The construction of the complex, which is expected to reach RM20 million, is expected to be achieved since the collection for infaq or waqf is still ongoing.

"So, with the completion of this academy, we hope to bring the movement of interpreting the Quran internationally so that the concept of tadabbur, understanding and charity can be translated into various languages around the world," he said when met after the My #QuranTime 1.0 Khatam Tadabbur Convention at the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque, here, on Saturday.

Hussamuddin, who is also the Chairman of the Karangkraf Group, added that almost all the activities carried out by WUIF, which was established more than 10 years ago, were the result of contributions from the public, especially loyal followers of each programme implemented by the foundation.

"When we launched the Al-Quran fund, we aimed to collect 15,000 manuscripts but Alhamdulillah we collected 300,000 manuscripts, where we managed to collect RM13 million," he said.

He explained that the donations received through infaq were then distributed to various parties such as hospitals and so on through the establishment of Al-Quran Corner.

"At the beginning of the establishment of WUIF before, the Karangkraf Group and I financed the funds for each programme carried out and Alhamdullillah now the ummah is the one who provides the funds.

"Up until now we have received more than RM20 million for three years and this money is used transparently.

“We have an account to manage funds," he said.

Therefore, Hussamuddin also welcomed any party to conduct an audit of the foundation he led if there was any doubt in the way the funds were managed.
