Rivers in Labuan, Sarawak hit danger and warning levels today
SHAH ALAM - Water level in a river in Labuan and two rivers in Sarawak has reached danger and warning levels respectively, as of 2pm today.
Based on Official Web of Public Info Banjir by the Environment and Water Ministry website, Sungai Bangat in Labuan had reached a danger level equivalent to 0.64 metre (m) of water level.
Meanwhile, in Sarawak, the rivers at the warning level are Punah Bah B in Kapit at 10.64m and Long Teru, Miri at 7.24m.
Moreover, also in Sarawak, six more rivers - Kapit New Headworks and Kapit Town in Kapit and Kanowit Town, Durin Bazaar, Sungai Salim B, Renan Kemiding in Sibu were currently under alert.
Apart from the two states, one river in each state of Melaka, Pahang and two rivers in Kedah also had reached the alert phase.
The rivers were Sungai Perik in Padang Terap and Sungai Anak Bukit in Kedah, Sungai Melaka in Melaka Tengah and also in Pahang, the river was Sungai Belat, Kuantan.
The rest of the states in Malaysia were still under control and water levels of the rivers as of today were still at normal levels.
It was reported two locations in Selangor were on alert and Sungai Linggi in Seremban also passed the danger level as of 12.15am, last night but had returned to normal at press time.
