KUALA LUMPUR - The government allocates RM305 million for the Orang Asli community as a whole which is an increase compared to RM274 million for this year.

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said the allocation comprised among others the programmes of social services following the increase of living standards and development integrated with the Orang Asli settlements.

"The government next year would implement a replantation project for Orang Asli fields comprising of rubber and palm trees that would benefit over 2,100 Orang Asli in Kemaman, Terengganu, Bera, Pahang and Gua Musang, Kelantan," he said when he tabled the budget in Parliament today.

The budget themed Strengthening Recovery and Facilitating Reforms towards Sustainability of Economic Resilience and Wellbeing of Keluarga Malaysia had for core focuses which were wellbeing of the people, business continuity, economic prosperity and efficiency of government services.
