KUALA LUMPUR – The government has allocated R235 million for women under the ‘Skim Semarak-Nita BSN, Tekunita TEKUN, Dananita MARA and Bank Rakyat Bizlady.

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said the allocation was given to encourage more women to increase their business capacity and increase their marketing strategy.

“As of October 2022, women holds 29 per cent board of director composition in public-listed companies and all 100 companies have at least one woman in their board of directors,” he said as he tabled Budget 2023 in Parliament today.

The budget themed Strengthening Recovery and Facilitating Reforms towards Sustainability of Economic Resilience and Wellbeing of Keluarga Malaysia had for core focuses which were wellbeing of the people, business continuity, economic prosperity and efficiency of government services.
