Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (middle) with his deputy Mohamad Hasan (left) and party secretary-general Ahmad Maslan during the press conference at Umno headquarters today.
This comes after a recent meeting between Pas president Tan Sri Hadi Awang to discuss on conditions decided by Umno, Zahid said.
“I had a meeting with Pas president recently and we discussed our policies.
“If Pas wants to be with us, they need to agree to the conditions we have decided," he said, this comes as Umno had previously told the Islamic party to choose either Umno or Perikatan Nasional.
“If they refused, then Umno will go solo. We are not overconfident but we believe that we must move forward as we face elections,” he said in a press conference after Umno special meeting held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), here, today.
The meeting was attended by all 191 division leaders including the Youth, Women and Puteri chiefs.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakub was also present, along with Umno's top leaders.
Zahid further said that he has discussed with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in Sabah and they have acknowledged their support for all BN candidates.
He expressed his appreciation for their support and also said that political parties that want to join BN will be decided later by the supreme council.
