Rasuah Busters: Nation’s security personnel need to have high integrity
GURUN - The formation of a character of high integrity, trust and responsible was necessary in the construction of a member of the security agencies to safeguard the peace and sovereignty of the country at all times.
Yayasan Sinar For Malaysia #RasuahBusters Chief Executive Officer Nurhayati Nordin said the building of moral values and character was very important as it is a barrier for an individual and could help a person to fight corruption.
She said history proved corruption was among the elements that could bring down a country if it was not constrained and eradicated from the early stage by all parties.
"Once upon a time, the magnificent Great Wall of China was successfully penetrated by the enemy even though they had a pretty powerful defence system just because of corruption.
"That's why the enemy we want to face is not just any enemy, it needs to be addressed with a strong cooperation from all sides by uplifting integrity to reject corruption," she told Sinar Ahad.
She said this after delivering talks to 100 security officers from the police, Malaysian Army, Royal Malaysian Navy, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency and the Malaysian Immigration Department at Jerai Hill Resort here.
Nurhayati said the interest shown by the Kedah State National Security Council (MKN) with Rasuah Busters was expected to spur and attract other parties to join the campaign against corruption in Kedah.
"This effort should not end here alone, we welcome the cooperation of Malaysians, any non-governmental organisations (NGOs), community groups and activists to join Rasuah Busters.
"We need to make the changes that our country desperately needs today to leave a good country to the next generation," Nurhayati added.
Also present in the programme were Kedah State Security Director Mohd Zawawi Zakaria and Director of National Intelligence and Crisis Management Division, Tajul Ariffin Muhammad.
Meanwhile, Keluang Man Club president Amir Hamzah Hashim said in line with the image brought by Keluang Man in helping the public in times of distress, the club worked hand in hand with Rasuah Busters in the success of the agenda, especially in the fight against corruption.
"Today (Saturday), we are very honored to join the Rasuah Busters Corruption campaign (on the agenda against corruption).
"If we watch the Keluang Man series from series one to the end, we always include anti-crime elements and messages, especially anti-corruption," he said when met at the Pledge Reading Programme and Awareness Campaign with the Keluang Man mascot at the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya.
Amir Hamzah, who is also the Malaysian Animation Association President (Animas) said the similarities led to the collaboration with corruption Busters.
"If we watch the Keluang Man series, we have a lot of corruption and crime in this story.
"If we watch this animation the villain boss also inserts an anti-corruption message to his people, we put it casually in to give a message to the community and today we are coming forward with Rasuah Busters to raise public awareness of the importance of choosing good leadership and thus making the country free from corruption," he said.
Keluang Man was a popular animated series and was in great demand in the late 90s and early 2000s. The animated series was inspired by the late Kamarudin Ismail or better known as Kamn Ismail with UAS Animation founder and owner Natashah Datuk Md Noor.
It was first broadcasted in 1998.
Having seven seasons with over 140 episodes, Keluang Man features a unique storyline that showcases superheroes inspired by the bay and is also infused with comedy elements.
