SHAH ALAM - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob will propose a date for the dissolution of Parliament to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in line with Umno’s top 5 and supreme council meeting held last night.

This, Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said, was in accordance with Article 40 (1) of the Federal Constitution.

Zahid said it was the time for Umno's machinery to fulfil the aspirations of the people to restore stability, prosperity and well-being of the nation.

“Don't look back and keep moving forward, because time will not wait for a minute or even a second, it is very valuable to ensure that the country gets back on track,” he said in a Facebook post, today.

He added since the previous 14th General Election (GE14), the country faced instabilities that had destroyed many aspects of the country and the coming election would be the right time to bounce back.

“Insyaallah, all decisions made by Umno will always put the interests of the people at the forefront with careful evaluation and planning for a vital action like GE15.

“All the propaganda and accusations of Umno’s enemies to negate the importance of GE15 being held this year is just a form of excuse and the creation of a continuous perception to avoid having to face the determination of the people's power,” he added.

He said the election was very important to be held to ensure the formation of a government that was capable of fortifying the country from the impact of the global economic recession predicted next year.
