Firdaus Wong expected to testify in Ebit Lew's case

TENOM - Independent preacher Firdaus Wong is expected to be called as a witness on the third day of Ebit Lew's trial for sexual harassment at the magistrate's court, here, on Thursday.

Apart from Wong, another police officer would also be called to testify in the trial.

Lew or his full name Ebit Erawan Ibrahim's trial which entered the third day is set to proceed until Friday.

So far, first prosecution witness motivational speaker Mohd Fairuz Abu, 37, had testfied for two days in the trial.

Meanwhile, Lew was seen at the vicinity of the courthouse at about 9.30am, clad in a blue shirt and black pants.

The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutors Nor Azizah Mohamad, Muhammad Ilmami Ahmad, Zahida Zakaria, Adibah Saiful Bahri and Nur Masrin Amalia while Lew was represented by lawyers Ram Singh, Kamarudin Mohmad Chinki, Timothy Daut, Kimberly Ye Wanchuin and Chen Wen Jye.

The case was heard before magistrate Nur Asyraf Zolhani.

Lew faces 11 charges involving sexual harassment under Section 509 of the Penal Code among which he was accused of insulting the modesty of a woman by sending obscene photos and words to the victim's phone number via the WhatsApp application.
