A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was held at the Karangkraf Headquarters today, where Syria Care chairman Siti Sakinah Meor Omar Baki and Sinar Karangkraf Deputy Chairman Datuk Muhammad Nasir Hamzah were both present to sign the MoU.

Siti Sakinah said the campaign is in its 10th year to reduce the burden of Syrians without basic necessities.

“We are trying to help the people in Syria, especially mothers with children who do not have enough basic necessities to get them through the season.

“It is a humanitarian crisis that has been going on for over 10 years and has resulted in infrastructure damage, the death of more than a million people and displaced people,” she said in her speech.

She added up to 7 mil Syrians have lost their homes and lack essential items such as bread and face power cuts of up to 22 hours a day.

Meanwhile, Nasir Hamzah said Sinar Karangkraf is open to work with the NGO as it revolves around charity and voluntary work.
