Being Me: Love Me More event featured insightful sharings on self-love
KUALA LUMPUR - The concept of self love is well expressed through the Love Me More programme which empowers women to develop self love and care about themselves even more, in Islamic perspective at Matrade Hall, Kuala Lumpur recently.
Organised by Mercy Mission in collaboration with Seven Skies International School and Sinar Daily as the media partner, this programme received heartwarming support from approximately 1,500 participants who came to engulf significant motivations from the five speakers invited.
The five speakers were religious speakers such as Ustadha Farhat Naik, Ustadha Umm Hud, Ustadha Nurul Asyiqin, Dr Atiyah Azmi and Mizz Nina.
The programme kicked off for five hours starting from 10 am with the opening slot by Ustadha Umm Hud entitled Love Me More which touched more on self love and how women prioritise Allah before themselves.
“Allah mentioned in surah Kursi that if Allah loves you, he will become your eyes where he will guide you to see from right perspectives.
“What we can learn now is that the first thing is to make one powerful doa and the second one is to strengthen your world view,” she said.
Moving on to Mizz Nina’s Becoming Me, where it focused on decision making in life that could be affected by people’s opinion.
“We make decisions on what we think is right, society or culture says is right, if you do not worship allah, then who will we worship? Our desires, and wealth.
“It's dangerous when you put the love at the same level of Allah, it becomes toxic. What we should be addicted to is the love of Allah,” she said.
Apart from the two speakers of the day, Ustadha Farhat Naik gave a talk on women empowering and shared the stories of two important female figures in Islam, Hajar and Prophet Musa's mother.
The final session was ended with a sharing session entitled Me, Myself and I from three speakers, Mizz Nina, Dr Athiyah Azmi and Ustadha Nurul Asyiqin.
