Muhyiddin meets Hadi to discuss on strengthening PN
SHAH ALAM - Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin held a meeting with Pas President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang on Monday night.
Muhyiddin said many topics were discussed and agreed upon with the aim to strengthen Perikatan Nasional (PN) in preparation for the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15).
"Alhamdulillah. The two-hour discussion last night was very meaningful.
"Many things were agreed upon to strengthen PN in the face of GE15," he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
The former prime minister previously said he would meet with Hadi to seek clarification on the claims that the Marang MP met Umno President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to 'revive' Muafakat Nasional (MN).
It follows a newspaper report which claimed the talks to revive MN was to avoid a two-party clash in GE15.
The report also mentioned that the meeting took place on Tuesday and the decision of the discussion would be brought to the Umno Supreme Working Council (MKT) meeting on September 30.
In addition to seeking clarification from Pas, the meeting between Muhyiddin and Abdul Hadi would also discuss other important matters in preparation for GE15.
Also present were Bersatu Deputy President Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu; Bersatu Vice President, Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin and Pas Vice President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
