Police seize almost RM500,000 worth of untaxed alcohol, 12 arrested

KLANG - The fourth battalion Semenyih General Operations Team (PGA) has busted a syndicate storing and distributing untaxed alcohol amounting to RM500,000 during raids at two premises in Taman Sentosa, here, on Wednesday.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed said during the first raid at Jalan Hulubalang 27, police arrested a local man aged 58 and nine foreign male suspects aged between 22 and 58.

During the raid, he said the police seized a total of 48,990 bottles of untaxed alcohol of various types and 480 cans of beers.

Arjunaidi said the total amount of seizure in both raids were worth approximately RM500,000.

He said police were still tracking down the owner and manager of the premises involved in the syndicate for further investigation.

Meanwhile, in the second raid that was carried at ​​Jalan Hulubalang 26, two foreign female suspects aged 23 and 24 were arrested.

A total of 576 cans of liquor of various brands and 270 boxes containing firecrackers have been seized from the premises.

Arjunaidi said the total amount of seizure in both raids were worth approximately RM500,000.
