No dissolution of Sabah state assembly in GE15, says Hajiji

SANDAKAN - Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has stressed that the state legislative assembly will not be dissolved following the dissolution of Parliament for the 15th General Election (GE15).
He said the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS)-Barisan Nasional (BN) government led by him still had three more years to serve as government for one term.
He said he was previously told that the Sabah state assembly would also be dissolved if Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the dissolution of Parliament this year.
"We will continue to govern Sabah, we have three more years.
"The stories (news) to dissolve the state legislative assembly are not true,” he said during the GRS Batu Sapi Tour programme in Kampung Lupak Meluas Darat here, on Sunday.
Hajiji who was also GRS chairman said he wanted GRS to continue to be empowered because the coalition was made up of parties that represented people of multiple races.
"In GRS, we have Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star), Parti Maju Sabah (SAPP) and most recently we have the United Sabah National Organisation (Usno) and many other parties that wanted to join GRS.
"For me, GRS is a coalition that represents all races in Sabah. It's time for us in Sabah who are made up of various races, lineages and religious beliefs to unite in one coalition which is GRS.
Accordingly, he revealed that all party components in GRS have agreed to use the GRS logo in the next general election.
"All the parties in GRS including Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Sabah and Star have agreed to use the GRS logo in the election. InsyaAllah we will emerge as winners in this election,” he said.
Meanwhile, on the Batu Sapi parliamentary seat, he said GRS will work with BN to ensure victory was on their side.
"If the Batu Sapi candidate is elected from GRS, we know that BN will also work hard to ensure victory and likewise if a BN candidate is elected, GRS will work to ensure that the candidate wins because we are a GRS-BN government," he said.
