Wadah praises Sultan Nazrin Shah for creating awareness on corruption
SHAH ALAM - An NGO says has praised Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah to increase awareness, distinguishing all forms of corruption in the country.
Wadah Pencerdasan Umat Malaysia (Wadah) president Datuk Ahmad Azam Ab Rahman said the Sultan's commitment is evident in his command, encouraging tone and to increase people's conscience over the symptoms of corruption.
“The symptom of corruption is like a poison that should be eliminated immediately before it flares up and destroys Malaysians," he said.
Yesterday Sultan Nazrin Shah officiated a book launch entitled Corruption and Hypocrisy in Malay Muslim Politics: The Urgency of Moral-Ethical Transformation, on last Sept 22 at Karangkraf Media Group Headquarters, here.
The book was written by Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Kamal Hassan.
Azam said Wadah will continue to fight in restoring the awareness over corruption, adding they will also join hands with other Islamic and social organisations to help cut corruption within communities.
