SHAH ALAM - An activist has urged political parties to come up with plans and proposal for state to fund them to reduce corruption.

Activist Raja Ahmad Aminullah said state funding is needed.

"The fund can help us to eliminate at least 90 percent of corruption," he told Sinar Daily.

He said this when attending a book launch titled Corruption and Hypocrisy in Malay Muslim Politics: The Urgency of Moral-Ethical Transformation at Karangkraf Media Group headquarters today.

The book, written by Prof Emeritus Tan Sri Kamal Hassan, was launched by Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah.

Raja Ahmad also spoke on the importance of creating awareness on how corruption affects the society and nation.

He also expressed disappointment in the idea of having the 15th General Election (GE15) in this year as the nation approaches monsoon.

"It is crazy to have GE15 during the flood season.

"I don't care what party you are in. If you rejoice the idea of election during the flood, what kind of person are you?," he asked.

In this case, he said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob should be proactive in deciding the right time for GE15.

"The prime minister should know when is the best time for GE15, certainly not during the flood season," he said.
