SHAH ALAM - The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah graces Karangkraf Media Group Headquarters today, to launch a book on corruption in Malaysia and the hypocrisy of Malay politicians.

Him launching the book, ‘Corruption and Hypocrisy in Malay Muslim Politics - The Urgency of Moral-Ethical Transformation’ by Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dr Mohd Kamal Hassan will be a major milestone for the anti-corruption movement set forth by #RasuahBusters and Emir Research.

Attending the event were national figures, media heads, civil society and Malaysians citizens from across the country.

Karangkraf Media Group Chairman Datuk Dr Hussamuddin Yaacub will also deliver his opening speech, followed by Sultan Nazrin’s royal speech and a launching gimmick.

Mohd Kamal Hassan stated that the research, criticisms, and recomendations in the book were solely "criticism from himself without any underlying interests” in contemplation of achieving a socio-political transformation, improvements and renewal in the practises and culture of Malay politics as well as unity and cooperation among Malay politics.

He described himself as a Muslim and truly non-partisan political observer who used his writing to call out the sincere Malay political leaders and their followers and notified them of the political turmoil and moral destruction faced in today’s world.

Not only that, he said he has provided constructive tips, a guideline, and a framework for reevaluating the Malay political ecology seriously as well as to search for the soul and introception of oneself.

Echoing a similar contention over the matter, Datuk Husamuddin who is also the head of #RasuahBusters stressed that the chain of corruption in the country must be severed at all levels of the ecosystem with the continuous support of the society as a whole.

“The belief system must be the fort that defends our dignity. Leaders are called to serve for God; not the status, position or mediums of those who do wrong.

“Every one of us is the captain of our ship and we hold the rudder to navigate its path. “Choose leaders who are free of hypocrisy, one with dignity, principles and puts the rakyat first; not those who use the people to fulfil their personal fantasies,” he said.

He further encouraged Malaysians to join forces with #RasuahBusters in order to achieve the independence of Malaysia from corruption.

After the launch, official media partner Sinar Harian will air a special Wacana episode featuring Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council Tan Sri Datuk Seri Mohd Annuar Zaini as well as National Journalism Laureate Tan Sri Johan Jaaffar, USCI University’s Professor of Islamic Architecture Prof Dr Mohd Tajudin Mohd Jadi and Malaysia International Islamic University Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences’ lecturer Dr Abu Hafiz Salleh Hudin.
