Asyraf Wajdi challenges Muhyiddin to pull his support for PM
SHAH ALAM - Umno Youth Chief Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi challenges Bersatu President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to instruct all Perikatan Nasional (PN) MPs from the government to pull their support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said if Muhyiddin was confident the government today failed to manage the economy and needed to have the 15th General Election (GE15), he should do something about it.
"Prove it with actions as a man to immediately order Tan Sri's (Muhyiddin) men from the government to pull their support for the Prime Minister.
"If you dare press the button now," he said in a post on his Facebook on Tuesday.
Muhyiddin on Monday said if Ismail Sabri continuously failed to manage the economy and the country, election should be held.
He said this was to ensure a new government that was more competent, observant and free from corruption could be chosen by the public.
Asyraf said the state of the economy today was far better than when Muhyiddin made the half-cooked lockdown for the longest of time and arbitrarily suspended Parliament for several months.
"So who failed to manage the economy? Who was the Senior Economy Minister and also Miti Minister? Who was the Economic Planning Minister (EPU)? And who was the Economic Recovery Council Chairman? Was it not all related to Tan Sri (Muhyiddin)’s party? Once again, who was the one who failed?
"After Tengku Zafrul declared to join BN the Finance Minister appointed Tan Sri (Muhyiddin) and even required by himself to be retained as the Finance Minister during Datuk Ismail Sabri's time and declared this a failure as well?" he questioned.
