Missing pilot found safe near crash site in Bidor

SHAH ALAM - The pilot that went missing after losing contact with Kuala Lumpur Air Traffic Control Centre (KLATCC) on Sunday is found safe.

This was confirmed by Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong who said he was informed by Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).

"I'm grateful as I was just informed by CAAM that the European helicopter pilot that lost contact with the KLATCC yesterday was found safe at a crash location near Bidor at 8.20am this morning.

"I would like to extend highest appreciation towards the air force, police, fire and rescue services as well as all involved in the search and rescue (SAR) operations," he said in a statement, today.

Wee said the pilot will be send to Ipoh Hospital for treatment.

The private company owned helicopter took off from the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (LTSAS), Subang on 11.37am on Sunday with one pilot.

The helicopter was scheduled to land at Ipoh Sultan Azlan Shah Airport on 12.37pm however, lost contact with the KLATCC at 12.16pm.
