Man gnawed by crocodile while crossing river on homemade raft

SANDAKAN - A man in his 50s was gnawed by a crocodile while crossing a river using a homemade raft near Taman Kenari, Batu 7, here on Friday.
Operations Center (PGO) of the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department said they received a distress call on the incident at 8.57pm the same night.
"The witness said the victim had just returned from Kenari Batu 7 Mosque and tried to cross the river to return home by a homemade raft," he said in a statement.
A search and rescue (SAR) operation was carried out but were unsuccessful in finding the body. The team resumed operations again this morning at 6.39am.
"SAR operations are carried out using rescue boats and we will update as the team continues its search," it stated.
