SHAH ALAM – The social media was abuzz since yesterday when several individuals claim to have received bad customer experience from celebrity chef Khairul Aming’s now-removed manager.

Khairul today apologised to those who had similar bad experiences with the manager who was said to be ‘kekwat’ – that means snobbish in Malay – and rude to the customers who have tried to collaborate with the celebrity chef.

He further said he learnt a lot from what happened and would take necessary actions to settle the matter.

“I want to personally apologise to all parties who have dealt with my manager before.

“He’s my friend, and I trusted him so much to handle things without properly cross-checking the quality of his work.

“Many people ended up having bad experiences with him all this time.

“Many people also advised me to separate friendship from business and I agree that this is what I struggled with the most because I started from the bottom with my friends, but I have taken note of this and will take the necessary actions.

“Once again, I want to apologise to all the parties involved all this time. I learned a lot today and will try to improve next time and thank you so much,” he said on his Twitter post.

Earlier, Malaysians had been commenting on social media about getting bad replies and rude remarks from the manager to the point that some were fed up with his attitude.

A Twitter user with the username Affieza Affandi said she received a reply saying that she was not someone on the same level as the celebrity chef.

“It’s true. I experienced this earlier this year, and he could have said it in a nicer way if they can’t do a review for us.

“He even asked who I am to directly go to Khairul Aming and if I just started, it is better to find those on my level because I would not be able to sponsor them.

“I regret calling him to this day,” she tweeted.

Another username known as Naz also commented that many seem to be dealing with the ‘kekwat’ manager of the Hey Whats Up Guys influencer. He admitted to unfollowing all Khairul’s accounts because of his manager’s ‘mulut puaka’.

“So ‘kekwat’. I contacted Tok Ti’s manager before and even they were not ‘kekwat’ like you,” he added.
