SHAH ALAM - PKR will lodge a report to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over allegations that Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Dr Abd Latiff Ahmad was involved in the littoral combat ship (LCS) scandal.

The party’s strategy director Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said the report will be made at the anti-graft office’s headquarters in Putrajaya on Tuesday.

This, he said was because the Mersing MP was said to be linked to the scandal through the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report and forensic audit report, recently.

He said the MACC report which will be made will focus on alleged corruption under Sections 16, 17(a), 17(b), 18 and 23 of the MACC Act 2009 which will enable the commission to carry out investigations.

"The MACC report tomorrow will urge the MACC to reveal Abd Latiff’s asset declaration he made before swearing in as a minister," Akmal said in a Facebook post on Monday.

The Johor Bahru MP said the report was important as a measure to combat the embezzlement issue.

"What will happen next if we do not fight against the #SkandalLCS embezzlement?.

"Those who provided the information would be pressured and those who committed the offence run freely. This is why we have to keep on pushing the authorities to investigate the real perpetrator.

Rafizi on Saturday was called up by the police at the Sentul district police headquarters (IPD) to give his statement.

This follows a police report made by Abd Latiff who claimed that the former had defamed him over the LCS issue.

Meawhile, Akmal said he would make sure that the case was investigated so that the truth over the LCS issue will be exposed.

He said he will also hold a press conference in front of the MACC headquarters at 11am tomorrow after making the report.
