Najib appears in court a day after being hospitalised
NURUL AISYAH MOHD NORKUALA LUMPUR – Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak appeared in court today despite the report of him being hospitalised for a medical examination.
Astro Awani reported the Pekan MP, who is serving a 12-year prison sentence at Kajang Prison arrived at at the Kuala Lumpur High Court at about 8.50am for the trial of the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) case.
Najib, 69, was seen wearing a dark-coloured suit and accompanied by prison officers to attend the proceedings before Judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah.
His wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor was also spotted at the court’s compound.
Yesterday, Najib’s officer confirmed that he was admitted to the Kuala Lumpur (HKL) hospital recently.
However, Najib's condition was reported to be stable and he went through necessary medical examinations.
Najib faces four charges of allegedly abusing his position to obtain bribes totalling RM3.4 billion from the 1MDB fund and 21 counts of money laundering involving the same amount.
