SHAH ALAM - Pakatan Harapan (PH) is currently watching and waiting on the announcement of the General Election 15 (GE15).

Kampung Tunku assemblyman Lim Yi Wei from Selangor state government said PH previously declared they would not dissolve their state assembly if the Federal Government decided to hold an election this year.

“However, I think we (PH) are also watching and waiting, hence the fact that tabling of the budget has been brought earlier, I could see it dissolve together because the sentiment brought by the GE state election was quite different.

“Plus, we are also concerned about the voter turnout.

“There was a very low voter turnout of youth in Johor and low voter turnout of outstation voters so that was what we were quite concerned about,” she said.

Lim spoke as a panellist in Wacana English Edition ‘Resetting the Political Landscape’ together with Arus Anak Muda chairman Dr Zokhri Idris and also Umno Youth Chief Exco Ikmal Hazlan Ikmal Hashim

She also suggested it would be better to hold the GE15 next year as people currently suffered from political fatigue.

From the new trend, it was found that people now didn’t look at parties, but individual that previously served in a particular area.

Thus, the dynamic was not met up with each other and more time should be provided.

Meanwhile, Lim said she dealt a lot with women, children and the B40 community but there was no specific direction from the ground.

She further claimed that there was nothing specific that had been done by the government to improve the situation of the marginalised, not only the women, children and the B40 people but also to those with disabilities.
