Ismail Sabri not at Umno special briefing
SHAH ALAM - Umno Vice President and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is not present at the party's special briefing today.
As of 3.17pm today, Ismail Sabri was inot seen at the compound of the hall and might not attend the special briefing.
This comes as the World Trade Centre (WTC) is being filled with sea of red with Umno’s grassroots leaders and its supporters attending the meeting.
Also seen at the hall were Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, vice president Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid, Women chief Datin Seri Noraini Ahmad, Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Hussein, Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos, Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin as well as other division chiefs and supporters.
Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak was sentenced to 12 years prison and RM210 million fine for misappropriation of funds in the SRC International case.
Majority of Umno supporters have been pushing for early elections and are also hoping for Najib's Royal Pardon.
Zahid has so far said they will reject calls for delayed general elections.
So far Ismail Sabri has brought the tabling of the budget to Oct 7. It is not known if he is planning to hold elections just after the tabling of the 2023 Budget.
