An actor has to burn inside with an outer ease quote suits well with the cast of local military blockbuster Air Force The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa.

To bring their roles to life, the cast were trained by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) officers in handling the equipment, body postures in war, code words in special force operation and how to fly like a fighter pilot.

The most challenging part was not acting but wearing the RMAF uniform, said actor Adi Putra.

"This opportunity is definitely a great honour and bigger trust to be carried out. Salute to all the RMAF officers," he said in a press conference at GSC Midvalley.

Meanwhile Carmen Soo who played an engineer in the movie expressed her gratitude to the directors for giving her an opportunity in reflecting woman empowerment.

"The role I played is very rare as there are limited female engineers in RMAF however, they still exist.

"I hope my character somehow represents the women out there and encourages them to pursue their career in this line," she said.

The co-directors Frank See and Zulkarnain Azhar also expressed their utmost gratitude to RMAF for the continuous support to shoot the movie.

"The movie has been filmed with full support of RMAF and their contribution is priceless," said Frank.

The entire movie was mostly filmed in Kota Belud, Sabah but also in Kuantann and RMAF base in Subang.

Zulkarnain said less than 10 percent of computer-generated imagery (CGI) special effects was used, and rest of the film were shot in real scenes including the military aircraft and air battle scenes.

On the challenges of filming the movie, Zulkarnain said they not only had to battle with the wet weather, there were also frequent problems with weapons in the last battle scene.

"But the actors did not complain and insisted to re-shoot for the perfect scene," he said.

"Only crazy people like us would film in rainy season,” he joked.

The duo directors hopes their work to be seen by more people and urged everyone to watch the movie on screen.

"I hope everyone support and re-watch the movie several times, not only Malaysian audiences but also foreigners," Zulkarnain said.
