Maxis scholarships are back to help young M'sians fulfill their passion

SHAH ALAM - Popular Maxis Scholarship Programme is back to help young Malaysians to pursue their academic dreams.

Maxis Berhad's (Maxis) chief human resources officer Natalia Navin said Maxis continuously contributes and commits to support students, women, entrepreneurs and the lower income or B40 communities.

Maxis also runs programmes on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), leadership and innovation.

“We are pleased to see such a positive response to our scholarship programmes launched in 2020.

"Our goal is to continue supporting young Malaysian talent in building sustainable skillsets so that they can stay ahead and be relevant in this fast-changing tech-driven landscape.

"This is a fantastic and timely opportunity for students and we encourage candidates to apply for the scholarships," she said in a statement.

There are three categories of Maxis scholarships - Maxis Women in Tech Scholarship, Maxis Tech Scholarship and Maxis Young Leaders Scholarships.

The previous Maxis scholarships saw students succeeding with flying colours and living the life they dreamt of.

Choo Carmen who took Maxis Women in Tech Scholar studying Computer Science at Monash University said "Maxis Scholarship Programme gave me the opportunity to pursue my passion in Computer Science.

She also said throughout the programme, Carmen was given an internship opportunity which enables her to learn and understand how computing is applied to innovation and transformation.

Meanwhile Roy Ng Zhan Lok who took Maxis Tech Scholar to study mechanical-electronic (mechatronic) & robotics engineering at Monash University Malaysia said Maxis helped him in a big way by allowing him to pursue his passion.

"I was looking for a scholarship to alleviate financial burden of my family, as pursuing a STEM degree is very costly, especially from a reputable university.
