First lady chief justice an inspiration to many

Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, the first Lady Chief Justice in Malaysia.
Her credibility and assertiveness became the inspiration of women in Twitter.
She is the first female Malaysian Chief Justice in the country replacing the Ninth Chief Justice Richard Malanjum who retired at the age of 66 in April 2019.
Maimun graduated from Universiti Malaya in 1982 with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) .
Born in Kota Bharu, Kelantan she began her career in 1982 as a Legal Officer at South Kelantan Development Authority (KESEDAR) before being posted to Seremban Municipal Council.
She joined the judicial and legal services in 1986 as a Parliamentary Draft Assistant in the Attorney General's Chambers Drafting Division.
Among other posts include magistrate in the Port Dickson Court, Federal Counsel in Kuala Terenggani Legal Aid Bureau, Seremban High Court Senior Assistant Registrar, Kuala Lumpur High Court Deputy Registrar, Malaysia Chief Judge and Chief Justice Special Officer, Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court Judge, Malaya High Court Registrar of the Malaysia Federal Court Chief Registrar.
Her last position in the Judicial and Legal Services was the Malaysia Federal Court Chief Registrar from 2005 to 2006.
In 2006 Maimun was elected as the Malaya High Court Judicial Commissioner and promoted to Malaya High Court Judge in Kuala Lumpur in 2007.
In 2013, Maimun was elected as Court of Appeal Judge and in 2018 she was posted as Federal Court Judge.
In May 2019 she was elected as the Malaysia Chief Justice by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah based on the advice of the Prime Minister at the time Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
On Aug 17, 2020 Maimun was awarded the Seri Setia Makhota, which carries the title of Tun.
Maimun married is Datuk Zamani Ibrahim and has four children
